Our partner is a fast-paced, well-financed, Independent Power Producer (IPP) specializing in the development, ownership, and operation of utility-scale energy storage systems across the United States. The business currently focuses its efforts on NYISO, ISO-NE, and PJM, developing BESS projects in dense urban areas. Their mission is to drive the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future while meeting the growing demand for renewable energy and storage solutions. They are creative, curious, collaborative, and driven, with approx. 20 employees today and growing fast with the top talent of the industry.

Position Overview:

This is a dynamic role responsible for developing grid-scale standalone energy storage projects, throughout the entire life cycle, in target markets. The right candidate will be willing to roll their sleeves up to tackle any problem while also stepping into a leadership role as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development activities in the early, mid, and late stages of the project.

  • Lead land acquisition from site identification to landowner negotiations

  • Oversee interconnection process with help from technical resources

  • Lead acquisition of local, state, and/or federal permits as required.

  • Represent the company with customers, landowners, state and local officials, and other stakeholders.

  • Manage tasks according to budgets and schedules, including coordinating internal and external technical support.

  • Support commercial and development strategy with involvement in key strategic decisions

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • Development experience in NYISO, ISO-NE, or PJM. Preference for experience in renewable or energy storage industry

  • Successful track record of developing projects from inception through COD

  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to self-direct, flexibility, creativity, desire to grow into additional responsibilities

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time. Ability to work in the United States is a requirement.

Salary: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience

Bonus: Competitive bonus based on performance

Equity: Equity-based award (RSA); amount dependent on experience
