Associate General Counsel

The Associate General Counsel (AGC) will be a full-time employee and report to the General Counsel. The AGC will support the organization's various legal needs. The AGC will collaborate with and be exposed to all elements of a rapidly growing, dynamic corporate environment in the renewable energy industry. Key Responsibilities

  • The AGC will be exposed to whatever legal matters arise at the company in support of the business. As such, responsibilities likely will vary from day to day, but will include the following:

    • Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Contracts

    • Business Development and Acquisitions of Community Solar projects

    • Equipment Procurement Contracts

    • O&M Contracts

    • Community Solar Subscription Agreements

    • Interconnection Agreements

    • General Corporate legal matters

    • Energy Regulatory legal matters

Though the position is largely focused on performing hands-on legal services for transactional matters, there may be some management of disputes and/or litigation with the support of external counsel.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to be a part of a fast-paced and fluid company poised for growth in one of the country’s most rapidly changing industries. This role requires attention to detail, flexibility, comfort with complexity and uncertainty, and a desire to learn new things. The client has a high-performance and strong customer service culture and are looking for someone with sound business judgment and problem-solving aptitude. The successful candidate must be collaborative and able to manage multiple and competing priorities.

    At a minimum, the AGC must have all of the following requirements:

    • JD degree, admission to and in good standing with a state bar;

    • Eight to Ten (8-10) years minimum legal experience performing transactional legal work, ideally having exposure to or experience with most of the types of work noted in the “Essential Duties and Responsibilities” section above;

    • Experience in the energy industry is required; renewable energy experience is preferred; and

    • Experience in a corporate legal environment is preferred but not required.
