Demand for senior talent is outpacing supply, and the firms that move quickly on the right people pull ahead.
Global battery storage capacity has jumped roughly 12-fold in four years. A record 200 gigawatt-hours came online in 2024 alone, and 2025 is tracking higher still. Grid-scale storage is now a core part of every utility-scale portfolio, and the talent to develop, finance, and operate it is in short supply at every level.
Gigafactory construction is no longer a US and China story. European and Southeast Asian capacity is expanding fast, driven by policy incentives and supply chain diversification. The commercial and operations talent to run these facilities is among the most competitive hiring we see.
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP), nickel manganese cobalt (NMC), sodium-ion, and solid-state: the landscape is no longer winner-take-all. Companies are scaling across multiple chemistries at once, and the people who can move fluidly between them, commercially and technically, are the hardest to find.
