SMT Energy energized its 160MW/320MWh Houston IV BESS in Texas, roughly three years from ERCOT queue to grid. Three years is now what fast looks like in ERCOT.
EDP Renewables North America and Salt River Project completed the 200MW/800MWh Flatland project in Arizona, EDP's largest BESS globally, co-located with solar feeding a Meta data center.
Grenergy inaugurated Elena, the largest battery plant in the Americas, in Chile: 3.5GWh today, scaling to 7GWh by 2028.

GridStor acquired the 199MW/796MWh Birdseye project in Colorado, its fifth deal in 18 months. The Goldman-backed platform is now past 530MW operating or under construction with a 3GW pipeline.
Ford Energy signed a five-year framework with EDF Power Solutions for up to 20GWh of LFP DC Block systems, built in Glendale, Kentucky.
The California Energy Commission approved Clearway's 400MW/3,200MWh BESS in Alameda County, the third project cleared under AB 205 fast-track permitting.

Plus Power and the Tennessee Valley Authority signed a 20-year agreement for the 200MW/800MWh Crawfish Creek BESS in Alabama, part of a 6,200MW regional build-out. The Southeast has arrived as a serious BESS market.
Noon Energy secured a reservation with Meta for up to 1GW/100GWh of multi-day storage, starting with a 25MW/2.5GWh pilot. Big Tech is becoming the demand signal that long-duration storage needed.
Eos Energy, CPower, Vertiv and Elevate all announced data center BESS deals under the bring-your-own-capacity model.

LG Energy Solution confirmed a $4.3 billion LFP supply deal with Tesla, producing cells in Michigan for Megapack 3 from 2027.
IPX Power closed $4.95 billion in debt for the Darden solar-plus-storage project in California: 1,150MW of solar and 4.6GWh of BESS.
