Nextpower completed its acquisition of BESS integrator Prevalon, first announced in May, taking the solar PV solutions provider into utility-scale storage. Prevalon has deployed more than 6GWh globally and continues under CEO Tom Cornell, another solar company concluding the growth curve next door belongs to batteries.

CATL generated 19.23% of its H1 2026 revenue of RMB276.9B ($40.9B) from energy storage, up from 15.88% a year earlier, with the segment carrying a higher gross margin than its EV batteries at 23.96% versus 20.63%. The world's biggest battery maker now earns better margins from the grid than from cars.
