Cypress Creek Energy broke ground on the Steel River Energy Center in Mississippi County, Arkansas, a build reaching 2.5GW of solar and 2.9GWh of battery storage by 2029 on $3.5 billion in project financing, with Google signed on as anchor investor and offtaker for the first two phases.

The signal The build is domestic end to end: First Solar panels from Alabama, structural steel from Mississippi County itself, and LG Energy Solution Vertech assembling the BESS with predominantly US-made cells. Under FEOC, the supply chain is the financing strategy.

Hiring Arkansas has almost no utility-scale storage talent base, and 700 construction jobs per phase will not be filled locally. Construction and Commissioning Leads, EPC Project Managers, and Site Quality Leadership get hired into MISO South before mobilization.
