Renewables Round Up: storage and gas-fired capacity cash in on data center demand

Flatiron Energy closed an $850 million financing package for its 1,200 MWh BESS project in Chelsea, Massachusetts, while Concord New Energy Group Limited landed $400 million for a Texas solar-plus-storage build and Deriva Energy secured $280 million for a 302 MW Oklahoma battery project set to become the largest in the SPP region.

PJM fast tracked 2.1 GW of capacity, most of it storage, while Invenergy and HASI formed a 2.7 GW renewables equity partnership that adds further scale to the project pipeline.

American Electric Power signed a roughly $4 billion Wyoming fuel cell deal with Google and a new linear generator agreement with Mainspring Energy, adding dispatchable capacity to serve data center demand.
